Charities shake their cups more in recession than any other time. This is so you know someone else suffers more than you, and you accept your suffering more readily. Charity is not worn as a badge. It is not an advertisement. Charity is unseen, otherwise, it is Egotism. The royal family is the visible pinnacle of the public image of the illusion of possession and maintainers of the have/have-not dualism society is infected with.

They are the visible ring-leaders of the reptilian-brained society, and celebrities are their agents.
